INTRODUCING THE GAME-CHANGING SUBARU BRZ
The exciting Subaru BRZ represents a whole new era of driver involvement from the marque that has brought the world some of the finest handling sports saloons ever created. No other car balances such driving precision with ease of use, or indeed such style with so much practicality.
With the lowest centre of gravity of any Subaru, perfect weight distribution, impressive fuel economy and a truly engaging front-engined, rear-wheel drive configuration, the BRZ represents the pinnacle of our chassis and engine innovation in one truly attainable package.
LIMITED ONLY BY YOUR IMAGINATION
While it may be a genuine sports car on the outside, that doesn’t stop the BRZ offering supreme interior comfort thanks to a generously proportioned cabin and some extremely clever packaging. A genuine four-seater, with a fold down rear seat and some 243 litres of storage capacity, the BRZ is as practical as it is stylish. Able to carry two full sized wheels and tyres with the seats up and an entire set with them down, who knows what you might get up to on your days off?
The Perfect View
The BRZ’s unique cabin design not only offers class-leading levels of comfort and legroom, but also excellent visibility in all directions. The pillar angles have been carefully honed to ensure perfect lines of sight for enhanced active safety whilst maintaining the perfect coupe profile.

THE SUBARU BOXER ENGINE
Starting with a clean sheet of paper, the FA20 sports engine developed for the BRZ not only offers a true ‘beating heart’ inkeeping with the true sporting nature of the car, but also exceptional environmental credentials in all driving conditions.
Our famed ‘flat four’ configuration not only allows us to optimise the car’s centre of gravity, further improving its weight distribution and roll characteristics, but, thanks to each horizontally opposed cylinder cancelling out the vibration of its opposite number, this high-revving powerplant is also exceptionally refined.
Hip To Be Square
The BRZ’s FA engine features a stroke length of 86mm, with a ‘square’ bore of precisely the same dimension. With each unit being so beautifully balanced, it can comfortably rev as high as 7,000rpm during spirited driving, offering the kind of smooth, linear power delivery that only a tuned normally-aspirated engine can deliver.
The D4-S next-generation injection system is the key to the BRZ’s crisp performance and parsimonious fuel consumption and has been specially tuned by Subaru to complement the flat four engine configuration. Two independent sets of injectors are controlled by a sophisticated ECU that can trigger each set at differing rates depending on the engine’s precise requirements. One set handles port injection in the low speed range, whilst the other takes care of cylinder injection in the mid-speed range. Both can be fired together to provide optimum fuelling at wider throttle openings. The result of this incredibly responsive set-up - in marked contrast to traditional injection configurations - is crisper throttle response, higher performance and notably lower emissions and fuel consumption.
Even when compared to the exceptional packaging of the WRX STI, the BRZ’s engine positioning is notable for its efficacy. Situated some 240mm further back and a whole 60mm lower in the chassis than the WRX, it also uses a carefully angled radiator at a precise 17 degrees to ensure a lower bonnet line without affecting airflow. Every single part of this package has been carefully designed to optimise handling performance with both inlet and exhaust manifolds being optimised to save space whilst maximising gasflow. Even the oil pan has been totally re-designed to ensure maximum ground clearance from this compact powertrain. No detail has been overlooked.
All BRZ models are covered by a 5 year/ 100,000 mile (whichever is sooner) Limited Warranty.
